Minot State Alumni and Friends Appreciation Nights

MINOT, N.D. – The annual Minot State Alumni and Friends Appreciation Nights will take place on Friday, Jan. 22 and Friday, Jan. 29, with both events beginning at 6 p.m. in the MSU Dome.

This year’s appreciation night will look a little different than in the past. To begin with, the event will occur twice. The first night will be held during the women’s basketball game vs. Minnesota Crookston. Next Friday will feature men’s basketball vs. Bemidji State University.

“COVID has really made us rethink the way we do things,” said Janna McKechnie, MSU director of alumni relations and annual giving. “Marco’s Pizza has been great to partner with; they have helped us take precautions to keep everyone healthy, and this is a great opportunity to safely bring our alumni back to campus and cheer the basketball teams on to win.”

Alumni and friends will be able to pick up an individually packaged slice of Marco’s Pizza — cheese or pepperoni — and a bottle of water on the way to their seats for the game. Attendees are asked to present their postcard or email invite to redeem their “Slice in the Seat,” for up to four people with each card. The nights will also include opportunities to score Minot State gifts.

“As always, we will have lots of MSU swag to give away,” said McKechnie. “There will be a special prize for the person or group that comes with the most Beaver pride!”

The 2021 appreciation nights are sponsored by the Minot State University Alumni Association, MSU Athletics, and Beaver Boosters. Minot State is still required masks to be worn at all events and for physical distancing recommendations to be observed.
