Minot State to host Dale Brown Classic, Hoopster Classic

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University will host some of the top prep teams from around the state of North Dakota in a pair of holiday tournaments at the Minot State Dome and Swain Hall.

The Dale Brown Classic will feature seven games on Tuesday, Dec. 27, while the Hoopster Classic features seven more games on Wednesday, Dec. 28. Both tournaments begin at 11 a.m. with varsity games at the Dome and junior varsity games taking place at Swain Hall. Please use the skywalk from the Dome to access Swain Hall as all exterior doors in Swain will be locked.

On Tuesday, Dec. 27, TGU and Stanley will kick off the Dale Brown Classic at 11 a.m. Hazen and Westhope Newburg are slated for a 12:30 p.m. start, Velva vs. St. John tip off at 2 p.m., Four Winds and Dickinson Trinity are scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Powers Lake will take on Beulah at 5 p.m., Shiloh Christian and Thompson are set to face each other at 6:30 p.m., and Our Redeemer’s Christian School will battle North Star in the nightcap at 8 p.m.

Berthold and North Prairie will start the Hoopster Classic on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. Velva and Trenton are scheduled for 12:30 p.m., Des Lacs-Burlington will face Dickinson Trinity at 2 p.m., Bishop Ryan plays Thompson at 3:30 p.m., Rugby and Beulah are set to tip off at 5 p.m., Shiloh Christian and Westhope Newburg are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and Our Redeemer’s and Hazen will finish the action off with an 8 p.m. start.
