Living and Learning Community

The Looyenga Leadership Center and Minot State Residence Life are collaborating to bring you the Leadership Living Learning Community. This LLC will empower students for current and future success through involvement in leadership, citizenship, and relationship building.  Residents of the Leadership Living Learning Community will interact with successful alumni, community members, and civic leaders and participate in interactive workshops, experiential activities, and service-learning opportunities designed to develop transferable leadership skills regardless of intended career or field of study.  This community will set its members on a path to be leaders on campus, in the local community, and beyond.

Contract Type: Fall/Spring

Location: Lura Manor 2nd Floor

Experiential Overview: Students who choose to participate in the Leadership Living and Learning community can anticipate:

            -An adventure weekend of high and low ropes team building

            -A community service project

            -Developing a personal leadership plan

            -Leadership workshops/speakers/activities to develop leadership skills

 

Prerequisites: First Year Student. Priority will be given to the students enrolled in LEAD 101: Introduction to Leadership

Who Can apply: Leadership is important to all majors and for all career paths!           

How to apply: Students who are enrolled in the LEAD 101: Introduction to Leadership, UNIV 110: Be Empowered, HON 191H: The Honors Community, and UNIV 110: Education will be contacted by the Residence Life office about being placed in the community.

If you are not part of one of these First Year Experience classes you can indicate on your residence hall application that you would like to be considered or you can contact the Residence Life Office to be placed on the list.
