Minot State hosting multiple events during North Dakota State Fair

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State is hosting multiple events during the North Dakota State Fair beginning Friday, July 23, including on-campus tours, an MSU Luau, and 3-on-3 basketball.

The University will have a booth located in Commercial Building II, located near Gate B, for the duration of the fair and will participate in the parade beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 24.

Prospective students are invited to tour the campus July 26-28 and July 30 and can sign up at askmsu.com/NDSF, call the enrollment service office at 701-858-3350, or arrive on campus prior to scheduled tour times. Tours will begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.

“Visiting during the North Dakota State Fair gives prospective students the opportunity to see if Minot State is the right fit for their future,” said Sydney Clark, admissions counselor. “They are able to experience one of the most exciting events in the Minot community and visit campus all in one visit. They have a chance to speak with a faculty member, see all of the departments, and receive a free t-shirt for visiting.”

Enrollment services has partnered with the Roosevelt Park Zoo, and individuals who tour campus will be eligible to win prizes and coupons from the zoo.

On Wednesday, July 28, the annual MSU Alumni and Friends Luau will be held in the Flickertail Gardens from 6-8 p.m. There is no charge for the event, although gate admission is required to enter the fairgrounds.

“We are excited to have the NDSF back this year. The luau is one of the best attended events of the year, and it’s fun to have the state fair atmosphere with a Minot State gathering,” said Janna McKechnie, director of alumni relations. “It’s a great opportunity for our alumni and friends from near and far to gather together.”

On Friday, July 30 and Saturday, July 30, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament put on by the Minot State athletic department will take place as players from across the state battle for a title. Teams can register HERE.

After a hiatus due to COVID-19 in 2020, the North Dakota State Fair will return for a nine-day run July 23-31 in Minot.
