Minot State to host 2025 North Dakota Native American State Science and Engineering Fair

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University will host the 2025 North Dakota Native American State Science and Engineering Fair on Feb. 19 in the Minot State Dome. Set up begins at 9:30 a.m., with public viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., judging from 1 to 3:30 p.m., and an awards ceremony at 4 p.m.

The coordinator is LaVon Jerome of Turtle Mountain Elementary Schools, and the facilitator is Annette Mennem, director of the MSU Native American Center. This is the third year Minot State has hosted the annual event; prior to 2023, it was held in Bismarck. In 2024, the fair welcomed eight schools, 167 students, and 110 projects. If anyone is interested in judging, they should contact Jerome by EMAIL or Mennem at 701-858-3112 or by EMAIL.

“This is the 40th year of the Native American State Science and Engineering Fair,” Jerome added. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our students from across the state to get together and compete in an academic event. This year, there are 10 schools and 147 projects registered for the competition. This is the third year that Minot State University has hosted the competition for us. We think this is a great opportunity for students to see what a university campus looks like and a great way for university students to give back to the youth of our great state. We are looking forward to another successful year!”
